The Challenge

To develop an experience for companies to show their clients the transition between Virtual, Augmented and Physical worlds, and creating an product with a personal edge to take home.

The Solution

The concept consists of turning a virtual drawing into a physical wearable object. As an example of this concept we developed a bespoke jewellery experience to show Unilever clients the role of technology and its implementation on customised beauty products.
The customers used VR, AR and 3D printing technology to turn a drawing into jewellery in a 3D immersive environment using VR. The appeal of the project is the ability to build a truly unique and personal piece within 20 minutes, and be able to amend the design in real time.

The Process

 1. The customer uses virtual tools to customise an existing product, which is pre-loaded into a creative virtual environment. The use of virtual reality enables the customer to be fully immersed while designing.
2.Through the use of AR technology, the customer is able to visualise their creation through their mobile device, and can retouch or amend their design if desired. This process of rapid prototyping makes for a more fluid design process, and a very personal connection to the object.
3. Through 3D printing technology, the customer’s design is quickly printed and ready to take home by the end of the session. We designed AR tags for the 3D printed jewelry that brought the designs to life, while merging together the virtual and the real.
